Cotton College State University, Assam

The Cotton College State University was established in 2011. The permission was given through Act XIX of 2011 bu the Government of Assam. Cotton College was a college establishment after which it was given the status of University. The Governer of Assam gave the assent on 3rd September 2011 and the Assam Gazette was notified on the 5th of September 2011. There have been two acts passed since the inception of the university. The Cotton College State University Act, 2011 and the Cotton College State University Amendment Act of 2011 which govern the functioning of this university.

The university currently has faculties for Physical, Chemical and Mathematical Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Languages, Literature and Linguistics, Human and Social Sciences.
